According to Taiwanese media outlets on August 31st, TzuyuŌĆÖs Weibo Fanclub received a notice to change the name of the fanclub. According to the notice, the word ŌĆ£bar (used to mead meeting)ŌĆØ has to be removed from the name of the fanclub. TzuyuŌĆÖs fanclub posted then deleted a post saying they have to choose a new name within two weeks. Taiwanese media interpret this as a part of CACŌĆÖs (Cyberspace Administration of China) 10 measures to ŌĆ£clean upŌĆØ what it called the ŌĆ£chaosŌĆØ of celebrity fan clubs. This includes banning any attempt to rank celebrities based on popularity, dismissing fanclubs that raise money for celebrities, and more. Alongside the news about Tzuyu, one Tawiwness media analyzed that the Chinese governmentŌĆÖs crackdown will expand to Hong Kong and Taiwan entertainment business. Earlier in 2016, Tzuyu came heavily under fire for waving the Taiwan flag on MBCŌĆÖs My Little Television. Many viewed this as the artistŌĆÖs attempt to ŌĆ£support Taiwan independence,ŌĆØ causing an uproar. In the end, Tzuyu had to post an apology video, saying, ŌĆ£China is oneŌĆØ.
