The 4 member K-Pop boy group recently achieved a milestone as WINNERŌĆÖs KANG SEUNG YOON and MINO were promoted to official full members of KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association). KOMCA, a non-profit organization founded to protect intellectual property rights and copyrights of musical properties in Korea, select 25 junior members to become full members every year. KANG SEUNG YOON and MINO who both have been widely recognized as talented producers and songwriters were finally selected this year to join the full members list. Coming in at #5 is NCT 127. NCT 127 is releasing their second mini-album in Japan titled ŌĆśLOVEHOLICŌĆÖ. At #9 is RED VELVET. Red VelvetŌĆÖs Irene is set to make her first big-screen debut with a film titled ŌĆśDOUBLE PATTYŌĆÖ. ŌĆśDOUBLE PATTYŌĆÖ, set to be released on February 17th, is a coming-of-age movie about a young man and woman who find each other as they struggle to chase their dreams. Irene will play the role of Lee Hyun Ji, an up and coming anchorwoman who works part-time as both a babysitter and a waitress at a burger restaurant. Hyun Ji meets Woo Ram, who is a Korean wrestling rookie while working on her waitress shift, and begins to support his dream. Irene will also be singing two OST soundtracks for ŌĆśDOUBLE PATTYŌĆÖ. The special idol of this month is MCND. MCNDŌĆÖs ŌĆśCrushŌĆÖ was recently selected as idolpickŌĆÖs Best Song of January. In the latest poll done by idolpick from February 1st to 7th, MCNDŌĆÖs ŌĆśCrushŌĆÖ was voted as the best song of January with more than 37.5K votes from the fans. As a result, MCNDŌĆÖs specially curated video advertisement will be displayed on a huge billboard for a week. MCND released their second mini-album ŌĆśMCND AGEŌĆÖ last month and has been getting a lot of attention for their impressive performance and songs.
